General plumbing
RA Plumbing & Heating carries out general plumbing work for homes and businesses in Dublin. That covers the small things that go wrong day to day, like a dripping tap or a running toilet, right through to replacing failed pipework and plumbing in a new bathroom or kitchen.
Most calls start with something simple: a leak, no hot water, poor pressure or a radiator that will not heat. We find the actual cause, explain what the repair involves and what it will cost, then get it done properly rather than leaving you with a temporary fix.
Smaller jobs are just as welcome as larger plumbing work, so get in touch either way. If the job turns out to involve gas or your boiler, that is covered on our boilers and gas page, and you can see the full range of work on our services page.

Kitchen plumbing
Under a kitchen sink is where most plumbing problems show up first. It is usually a weeping trap, a slow waste, a leaking flexible tail or a valve that has seized. We repair or replace the affected parts and make sure the whole run under the unit is left sound and accessible.
We also plumb in sinks and taps, connect washing machines and dishwashers, and alter waste and supply pipework when units are being moved or replaced.
What we cover

Bathroom plumbing
We plumb in basins, baths, showers, toilets and cisterns, and repair the ones already fitted, including leaking traps, failing seals, running cisterns and taps that will not shut off.
If you are refitting a bathroom, we can move supply and waste pipework to suit the new layout. Full bathroom work is covered on our services page.

Pipework
Old or damaged pipework causes leaks, pressure problems and airlocks. We repair burst and leaking pipes, replace sections that have had their day, and install new pipework where a layout is changing or an extension is being added.
Runs are clipped, insulated where needed and fitted with isolation valves so future work does not mean draining the whole house.
Heating systems
Over years of use, sludge, rust and debris build up inside a heating system. That material settles in radiators and pipework, and it can lead to cold areas, poor circulation and heating that does not perform the way it should.
Power flushing is designed to clean those contaminants out. Water is pumped through the boiler, pipework and radiators at high flow, with cleaning chemicals used to break down the build-up, so circulation improves and radiators heat more evenly.
Any one of these can have more than one cause, so none of them automatically means a power flush is needed. We check the system first and explain what we find.

Radiators & heating pipework
We replace radiators, fit new valves, move radiators to suit a redecoration and run new heating pipework where a system is being extended or altered.
If the boiler itself is the issue rather than the pipework, see boiler servicing in Dublin.
Why choose us
Pipework is run and finished properly, and the work area is left clean and tidy when we are done.
We explain what the problem is, what the repair involves and what it will cost before any work starts.
From a small repair to replacing failed pipework, the aim is a fix that holds rather than a temporary patch.
We carry out residential and commercial plumbing work, including bathrooms, kitchens and plant room pipework.
Areas covered
We cover the whole of Dublin, from the city centre out to the surrounding areas including Ongar, Clonee, Blanchardstown, Castleknock and Carpenterstown. We also take on work in selected parts of County Meath.

Yes. We repair leaking pipes, joints and fittings, and where a section of pipework has failed we can replace it rather than patch it. If the source of a leak is not obvious, we investigate first so the repair is carried out in the right place instead of opening up more of the house than necessary.
We do. A dripping tap, a running toilet, a new isolation valve or plumbing in a washing machine are all normal work for us. Small jobs are often best grouped together in one visit, so it is worth mentioning everything you want looked at when you call.
Yes. We replace taps, mixers, showers, toilets, cisterns, basins, baths and sinks, and we can adjust or extend the pipework and waste runs where the new fitting does not line up with the old one.
A radiator that is warm at the top and cold at the bottom usually points to sludge and debris settling inside it, which stops water circulating through the lower part of the panel. Air in the system tends to do the opposite, leaving the top cold. Either way it is worth having the system looked at, as the cause is not always the radiator itself.
Power flushing is a cleaning process for a heating system. Water is pumped through the boiler, pipework and radiators at high flow to lift sludge, rust and debris out of the system, with cleaning chemicals used to break down the build-up. The aim is to improve circulation so radiators heat more evenly.
Cold spots at the bottom of radiators, radiators that take a long time to warm up, uneven temperatures around the house, dirty water when a radiator is bled or noise from the system can all suggest a build-up inside. None of these on its own proves a power flush is needed, so we check the system first and tell you what we find before recommending any work.
